How we handle information for home and business connections.
What we collect
Job requests include your name, email, optional phone, city, optional ZIP, service category, description, budget, timing, and chosen providers. Applications include business details, selected service areas, contact information, and screening records. Support forms collect your name, email, topic, and description. Concern reports retain your email and description.
How we use and store it
We use cloud hosting and a restricted cloud database to operate the directory, review applications, coordinate authorized requests, and handle support and concerns. Authorized operators and service providers for hosting and email process information needed for those purposes. Screening evidence and backups may be kept separately for operator review. Messages sent directly to our email addresses are handled in our contact inbox; they are not automatically copied into the website database or deleted by its cleanup schedule. Contact us about email retention or deletion.
Who sees it
Authorized operators review submissions. Customer details are never displayed in the public directory. A request may be shared only with the named providers you select and authorize. Additional recipients require new consent. Approved public profiles show business information and dated screening details, rather than private evidence or customer records.
Your private receipt
Keep your receipt link private. Use it to check status or cancel a request. Cancellation stops further sharing through the request; it cannot remove information a provider already received.
No marketing enrollment
A request does not subscribe you to marketing. Applying never collects a card or activates a subscription. Contractors who separately choose a paid listing use Stripe-hosted checkout and accept the displayed quarterly renewal terms. Stripe processes payment and stores payment details; we store order, price, invoice/subscription references and status, rather than card numbers. Billing records receive separate retention review. A business website appears publicly only when expressly authorized.
Retention and deletion
Completed or cancelled job requests and resolved support or concern records become eligible for deletion 90 days after closure or update. Unresolved concerns hold related records; general concerns conservatively hold closed requests and removed providers. Audit records normally last one year, with open concerns holding cleanup. Active requests, active provider records, and unresolved support remain for operation and resolution. Backups and separate screening evidence require operator review. Contact Got Good Help to request deletion or ask a privacy question.
